“You better keep moving I don’t want to have to smash your camera” - VICPOL officer

THOMASTOWN, NAARM-MELBOURNE - JULY 4, 2024: In the early hours of Thursday morning, protesters gather in Thomastown to participate in a community picket aimed at shutting down Electromold, a factory alleged to be manufacturing Israeli weapons. Demonstrators hold a large banner reading “STOP ARMING ISRAEL” as they stand in solidarity against the production of military equipment, urging an end to the factory’s operations at 202 Holt Parade. The protest, promoted through social media by activists, highlights the community’s stance against the arms trade and its impact on Palestinians. Later during the protest, police deployed capsicum spray to disperse the crowd.
