For 6 years, 6 months, and 2 days, I donned the uniform of the Royal Australian Navy. As we look upon these images from the Anzac Day Dawn Service in Nipaluna (Hobart), let us not only remember but also confront the truths of our history. Lest we forget those Aboriginal servicemen left behind after the Boer War, who traveled to the other side of the world and never returned. And lest we forget the broken promises of land and citizenship made to those who returned, having sacrificed so much for a country that did not honor its word. Lest we forget the massacres and battles of the frontier conflicts of the Aboriginal person being forced from their homes and their world. These photos are a testament not just to history, but to the ongoing call for recognition and justice. #AnzacDay #Nipaluna #LestWeForget
